Kazakhstan, on whose territory the crash of the damaged Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer plane over Grozny occurred, has decided to send its black boxes for decoding to Brazil. This was reported by the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan, UNN reports.

In , the notice states that in accordance with of the standards of Annex 13 of the Chicago Convention, the investigating state shall ensure that the flight data recorders are read and decide on the choice of country for reading and decoding the black boxes.
Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport said that the decision to send the flight data recorders for decoding to the Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aviation Accidents in Brazil (CENIPA) was made on the basis of this document, taking into account the recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and consultations with the aviation authorities of Azerbaijan and Russia.
It is also reported that the decision was made by the Commission to investigate the accident, headed by the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Marat Karabayev, taking into account the fact that Brazil is the country of origin of the Embraer aircraft.
The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan assured that CENIPA has the necessary technical capabilities, equipment and laboratory to read information from flight data recorders, and emphasized that this issue is under the personal control of the head of state.

On December 25, a plane flying from Baku to Grozny diverted and crashed near the airport of Aktau in Kazakhstan. There were 67 people on board, 38 died.
