Military actions disrupted water supply to certain facilities of the Russia-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and adjacent areas in southeastern Ukraine. This was stated in a statement by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, reports UNN.

In Grossi's statement, it is said that there is currently no shortage of water from wells used to cool nuclear fuel in the reactors.
At the same time, according to him, attacks on Enerhodar and its surroundings, where a significant part of the NPP staff lives, were "aimed, in particular, at the local electrical infrastructure, leading to interruptions in water supply in the city and on the territory of the ZNPP".

He also reported that IAEA observers stationed at the plant "have had only limited access to tap water since July 18".
At the same time, Grossi did not mention either Ukraine or Russia when speaking about military activity in the area.
He noted that the IAEA team working on site has not been able to visit the nearby emergency management center since December due to security considerations.
In his statement, Grossi once again emphasized that the nuclear power plant staff "must be protected at all times".
