Melinda Haring suggested four candidates to Zelenskyy for the position of ambassador to the United States after Stefanishyna’s dismissal. They include Unguryan, Husovskyi, Klympush-Tsintsadze, and Stavnitser.

American expert on Ukraine Melinda Haring named four Ukrainian politicians and public figures who, in her opinion, could effectively represent Ukraine in Washington. The candidates are Pavlo Unhuryan, Serhii Husovskyi, Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, and Andrii Stavnitser. UNN reports this with reference to The Jerusalem Strategic Tribune.

Details

Haring presented her proposals in an open letter to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy against the backdrop of Olha Stefanishyna’s dismissal as Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States.

The expert named former Member of Parliament Pavlo Unhuryan as the first candidate. According to her, he has extensive contacts among American Republicans, as well as experience working with religious and conservative circles in the United States.

Haring considers entrepreneur and former member of the Kyiv City Council Serhii Husovskyi another possible candidate. The expert noted his command of English, entrepreneurial experience, and communication skills.

The list also includes Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze, a Member of Parliament from the European Solidarity party and chair of the parliamentary committee on Ukraine’s integration into the European Union. Haring emphasized her experience in foreign policy, European and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as her connections in Washington.

The expert named Ukrainian entrepreneur and co-founder of the Superhumans rehabilitation center Andrii Stavnitser as the fourth candidate. In Haring’s opinion, his advantages include experience working with international businesses, investors, and charitable organizations.

The American expert also mentioned Serhii Kyslytsya, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, whom she called an obvious candidate given his diplomatic experience. At the same time, Haring believes he should not be transferred to Washington because Ukraine needs him in his current position and in the negotiating process.

According to Haring, Ukraine’s new ambassador to the United States should be fluent in English, be able to work both with the Donald Trump administration and Congress, and maintain contacts with representatives of both major American parties, the business community, and religious organizations.

At the same time, Haring’s published list is her personal expert proposal, not an official list of candidates. As of August 6, the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine had not publicly announced whom they were considering for the position of the new ambassador to the United States.
