The Command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine refuted the information about the alleged crossing of the Ukrainian border by a Belarusian Il-62, reports UNN.
On June 25, at about 22:30, information appeared on some social media pages about the crossing of the Ukrainian border by a "Belarusian airline Il-62 aircraft." Based on data from the "Flightradar24" service, it was reported that a Belarusian cargo plane Il-62 allegedly entered Chernihiv region at 20:30 Kyiv time (17:30 UTC), and after some time crossed the Ukrainian-Moldovan border. This information is not true. No Belarusian airline aircraft crossed the Ukrainian border.
As noted, the Communications Department of the Air Force reported this to the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. "The refutation of the fake was published on the official resources of the CCD at 23:30," the statement says.
The online service "Flightradar24," the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted, is a civilian commercial project founded in 2006 by Swedish aviation enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, whose platform works through a browser and mobile applications for iOS and Android.
""Flightradar24" is not an official source of information about airspace, and therefore is not responsible for providing inaccurate or unreliable information. Therefore, we urge the media to use only reliable, verified information obtained from official sources and not to spread fakes," emphasized the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The Air Force is on round-the-clock combat duty to detect aerial targets both over the territory of Ukraine and far beyond its borders. In addition, information about air threats is published around the clock and promptly on the official media resources of the Air Force on Telegram, WhatsApp, Viber," the statement emphasizes.
