A partial collapse occurred on one of the walls of the Khotyn Fortress in Chernivtsi Oblast (Bukovyna). There were no casualties, and tourist access to the emergency area was restricted. This was reported by Khotyn Mayor Andriy Dranchuk, writes UNN.
Yesterday, a very unpleasant and extremely dangerous situation occurred in our beautiful Khotyn Fortress. Yes, there was a partial collapse on a large wall. And this collapse is very significant. Everyone is alive! Most importantly, no one was injured.
The collapse occurred on the territory of the State Historical and Architectural Reserve "Khotyn Fortress", and one of the large walls was damaged. It is noted that the DIAZ team reacted very quickly, involving State Emergency Service employees and restricting tourist access to the damaged area.
Currently, according to Dranchuk, the scale of the damage is being assessed. All important institutions have already been informed about the incident - the Chernivtsi Regional Military Administration, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine.
"We are maximally involved in finding funding for restoration work. We will cope with everything," Dranchuk added.
