Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said that today, April 11, marks exactly one month since Russia refused to accept a full temporary ceasefire proposed by the United States. He wrote about this on social network X, reports UNN.
"Exactly one month ago, on March 11 in Jeddah, Ukraine agreed to this proposal. Unconditionally. Russia refused to agree, instead putting forward conditions and demands. At the same time, Russia continues to intensify its terror against the civilian population in Ukraine," the diplomat wrote.
According to Sybiha, from March 11 to April 11, Russia fired almost 70 missiles of various types, more than 2,200 Shahed drones and more than 6,000 guided aerial bombs at Ukraine.
"These were Russian responses to peace proposals. It is inherent in Russia: to lie, manipulate and continue terror," Sybiha emphasized.
And he added that there could have been silence for a whole month, measures could have been taken to build trust to promote a just peace that the United States, Europe and other partners of Ukraine seek to achieve.
So "Russia is the only obstacle to peace and the only source of war."
"There is no need to wait another month to increase pressure on Moscow. Russia must feel real power to take seriously (the need to establish - ed.) peace," the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reads.
