Judge Natalia Sharko of the Genichesk District Court of Kherson Region, who is suspected of high treason, received a salary of almost 1.4 million hryvnias from the state budget of Ukraine. This is reported by Slidstvo.Info, UNN reports.
Details
The journalists found out that the complaint against the woman was filed by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, which suspects her of collaborating with the occupiers. Although Sharko has not yet been legally found guilty of treason, the HCJ can independently assess whether the judge's actions show signs of a disciplinary violation.
The first evidence that Sharko was collaborating with the Russians was that she remained in the temporarily occupied territory when her other colleagues left. The HCJ also emphasizes that the judge has not claimed interference in her activities, has not asked for a transfer, and has not been administering justice since February 24, 2022.
In particular, in 2023, Natalia Sharko issued a decision on the temporary detention of an abducted Ukrainian. This is a Crimean Tatar Lenur Khalilov from the Genichesk district, whom the occupation authorities accuse of allegedly organizing or participating in an illegal armed group.
The Council also investigated a video in which on September 23, 2023, Sharko, as the "first deputy head of the Genichesk military-civilian administration," delivered a festive speech from the stage, praising the occupation "authorities." In this video, the woman was recognized by witnesses.
The HCJ stated that such actions of Judge Sharko definitely defame the title of judge and undermine the authority of justice and decided to dismiss her.
However, until she was released, the woman continued to receive a salary from the Ukrainian budget while working for the occupation administration.
Slidstvo.info journalists learned from a response to a request from the State Judicial Administration that Sharko stopped receiving her salary in April 2023 because she did not show up for work. Up to that point and from February 24, 2022, Sharko received UAH 1.383 million from the state budget
