On Saturday, August 17, a large-scale forest fire broke out in the occupied Crimea, namely in the village of Gaspra, Yalta district, covering 2.9 hectares. The fire has now been localized. The fire broke out in a mining and forest area in the Budmistechko neighborhood of Gaspra. Foresters are also helping to extinguish the fire.
"Firefighting is complicated by the difficult terrain of mountainous and forested areas. Efforts are focused on preventing the fire from spreading," the statement said.
At the same time, the occupation agency clarified that no deaths or injuries were reported.
