Clashes between students and law enforcement broke out when some young people were pushed back after trying to break through the police cordon to get to the prefecture building.
Students also hit police cars with flagpoles near the offices of the state broadcaster Rai in the city.
The protesters also removed the Italian flag from the entrance to the famous film museum in the north of the city and installed a Palestinian flag in its place.
The publication noted that on Friday, students held marches in many Italian cities to protest against the government of Prime Minister Georgia Maloney, in particular, against its education policy, as well as against the sale of weapons to Israel and in support of the Palestinian people.
