As of the end of July, 430 children were taken away from Ukrainian refugees abroad. Most of these cases occurred in Germany and Poland. This was reported by the National Social Service of Ukraine, UNN reports with reference to Radio Liberty.

According to the service, 65 of the 430 children have already been returned. The service receives information about such cases both from Ukrainian diplomatic missions and from the relatives themselves.
According to Vasyl Lutsyk, head of the National Social Service, children can be taken away from their parents because they scold them loudly in the street or send them to school alone when they are under 10 years old. This is not a violation in Ukraine, but is prohibited in many European countries.
There are also objective reasons when parents have health problems, including mental disorders, then, of course, in order to ensure the safety of children, they are removed, placed in local family forms or other institutions that exist in a particular country. And our task is to find those relatives or legal representatives who are ready to travel, take the child and take care of him or her in the future
Among the countries where such situations occur most often are Germany (122 children), Poland (39 children), Norway and Spain (20 children each).
