On November 30, Ukraine celebrates the day of radio engineering troops of the AFU Air Forces, which are crucial for detecting enemy aircraft, missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. After the russian invasion, Ukraine stepped up the modernization of the PS radio engineering troops, achieving significant success.
Today, November 30, marks the day radio engineering troops of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The event was founded in 2010, according to the order of the minister of Defense, writes UNN.
Tasks, equipment, results
Radio engineering troops they are the eyes of anti-aircraft Missile Forces, Aviation and mobile groups with destruction of UAVs. They are the ones who detect enemy targets in the sky: planes, missiles, etc. drones.
Timely detection of an air target increases the chances that it will be destroyed.
At the beginning of 2022, the radio engineering troops of the AFU PS were 100% armed, and 30% of the equipment was made up of modern latest samples of Ukrainian production: the 80k6x1 Phoenix-1 detection radar station was adopted and upgraded to the 35d6m type of radar station (Radar) 19ZH6.
Since the beginning of a large-scale invasion of the russian federation on the territory of Ukraine, due to the increasing threats, the process of modernization of radio engineering systems the AFU Air Force accelerated.
In particular, the Western air defense systems of Ukraine received and modern radar systems.
5,944 UAVs, 1,567 cruise missiles, and 323 were destroyed during the war the aircraft and 324 helicopters of the enemy – this is largely due to radio engineering troops of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
