Special rooms for children with special educational needs have been set up in schools and kindergartens in the Brovary community. The rooms are equipped with equipment for psycho-emotional relief and correctional and developmental classes.

Resource rooms for children with special educational needs have been set up in 12 municipal schools and kindergartens in the Brovary territorial  community. These rooms are used for psycho-emotional relief, correctional and developmental classes, as well as for individual and group lessons. This was reported to UNN by the Brovary City Council.

Resource rooms have become an important element in creating an accessible educational environment in the Brovary community, providing the necessary support and promoting the full development of children with special educational needs. They are staffed by specialists, including speech therapists, defectologists, psychologists, and rehabilitation therapists.

In total, according to the city council, 7 speech therapists, 13 psychologists, 14 defectologists and 1 rehabilitation specialist work in the community's secondary schools, and 42 speech therapists work in preschools.

"Resource rooms are equipped with elements for calming, such as special sandboxes, sound recording devices for playing music, etc. They contain items for calming and sensory relief, such as tactile panels, soft modules, and light elements. They are equipped with comfortable soft poufs, tables, chairs and didactic materials used by teachers to teach and develop social and cognitive skills. Items for the development of motor skills are placed, for example, balls for balancing, ladders or other movable structures that help in the development of coordination and physical skills of the child," the city council said.

In total, the community has 179 inclusive classes in 12 general education institutions with 289 students with special educational needs, as well as 6 inclusive extended day care groups. Out of 23 municipal preschool education institutions, 19 have 59 inclusive groups attended by 141 children. Three of them have permanent support from a child's assistant, and each class and group has a teacher's assistant or educator.

To ensure access to education, 13 students with locomotor disorders are provided with special transportation to and from school.

For example, children are taken to the Trebukhov Lyceum by a bus, which is also equipped for the transportation of children in wheelchairs. The bus was handed over to the NGO "Women's Association" from Austrian partners.

In the Brovary city territorial community, 2,256 children with special educational needs are registered with the Inclusive Resource Center (IRC), of whom 1,426 are preschoolers and 830 are schoolchildren. Numerous inclusive initiatives and accommodations have been created in the community to ensure access to education for these children.
