A nighttime fire at an Alma-Ata hostel killed 13 people, presumably from carbon monoxide poisoning, and another 59 people were evacuated.
A fire broke out in a hostel in Alma-Ata, killing 13 people. About this is stated in a message on the website of the city Department of emergency situations, transmits UNN.

The first fire department arrived at the site in seven days minutes. At the time of arrival, there was burning in the basement a three-story residential building with a first floor and basement converted into a hostel. During the investigation and extinguishing of the fire, 13 dead. Previously, they died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
The fire area was 30 square meters.
According to preliminary information, there were 72 people in the hostel, 59 guests were evacuated independently.
