The day before in Saudi Arabia, US representatives met with the Ukrainian delegation. The details of the negotiations are unknown, but the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov called the meeting "constructive and meaningful."
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also described the meeting on March 23 in Riyadh as constructive. The President of Ukraine emphasized that the agenda included proposals for the protection of Ukrainian energy facilities and critical infrastructure, and representatives of the Ministry of Energy participated in the meeting. Zelenskyy also reminded that "since March 11, there has been a proposal for a unconditional ceasefire".
