Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska has begun a visit to Italy and the Vatican to attend Mass to mark one thousand days since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
According to the OP, Olena Zelenska and Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, had an audience with Pope Francis.
"Ukraine is grateful for the participation of the Holy See in the process of releasing our prisoners of war. The devaluation of human life requires increased pressure on Russia. We hope that the authority of the Holy See will help save more innocent lives that have the right to be safe on their native land," the First Lady said.
The President's wife and His Holiness discussed how to release all Ukrainians from Russian captivity and bring home all Ukrainian children deported by Russia.
Zelenska also handed over a hand-painted St. Nicholas plate from Ukraine to the Pope.
"With the hope that peace and security for Ukrainians will finally prevail not only in our wishes, but also in reality," she added.
In addition, the First Lady took part in a general audience for guests from around the world in St. Peter's Square.
