The recall covers hybrid models Volvo XC40 T4 Plug-in Hybrid and Volvo XC40 T5 Plug-in Hybrid from the 2020, 2021, and 2022 model years. The company noted that the batteries in these vehicles may overheat after a full charge.

Volvo Communications Manager Magnus Holst recommended that owners of such vehicles refrain from charging the batteries until an inspection is carried out.
