In some areas, the Russian occupiers are losing their advantage in artillery, but they are compensating for this by using aviation and dropping bombs. This was reported by the spokesman for the Khortytsia unit Nazar Voloshyn during a telethon, UNN reports .

Voloshyn commented on the information in the Western press that Ukrainian artillerymen are almost achieving parity with the enemy in the number of shells used: 1:2.5, 1:3.

This primarily depends on the areas and intensity of the fighting. At the beginning of the war, the ratio with the enemy was somewhere around 5:1 in favor of Russia. Now, in some areas, the advantage in the use of artillery shells and artillery on our side is one and a half to one, or even 1:3 in some areas

- Voloshyn said.

Voloshyn noted that the enemy is using artillery on larger areas, squares.

“Our artillerymen are sending every shell to the target. Therefore, at the moment the occupants are losing their advantage in artillery, but they are compensating for this by using aviation and dropping bombs,” Voloshyn said.

AddendumAddendum

On October 1, 2024, First Deputy Minister of Defense Ivan Havryliuk reported that the ratio of artillery ammunition used on the battlefield was 1:3 in favor of Russia, although in the winter of 2024 this ratio was 1:8.

On November 18, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, said that the European Union had delivered the promised million of ammunition to Ukraine.
