After Ukraine took a complex of procedural measures, the vessel PANORMITIS left the territorial waters of the State of Israel and moved into neutral waters, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reported on Thursday, UNN writes.
Another attempt by the Russian side to legalize grain illegally exported from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine has been thwarted. After Ukraine took a complex of procedural measures, the vessel PANORMITIS left the territorial waters of the State of Israel and moved into neutral waters. Such behavior may indicate an awareness of the risk of applying measures to secure criminal proceedings against the vessel and cargo, including seizure,
According to the Prosecutor General, "on the basis of materials transferred by the Ukrainian side within the framework of international legal cooperation, the competent authorities of Israel began executing the request."
"The fact of the offense has been recorded at the international level," he added.
As the Prosecutor General noted, therefore, the further movement of the vessel, the cargo, and the actions of persons involved in this scheme will remain the subject of legal response in any jurisdiction that recognizes the rule of law and respects the sovereignty of Ukraine.
"The vessel's departure into neutral waters does not terminate the criminal proceedings and does not exempt the involved persons from liability. Ukraine continues its procedural work, tracks the movement of all Russian vessels, and will use all available mechanisms of international legal cooperation to seize property, identify all participants in the scheme, and bring them to justice," Kravchenko indicated.
