Ukraine has managed to return the son of a Ukrainian serviceman, who had been in occupation in the Luhansk region for three years. After the death of his grandmother, the boy was threatened with deportation to the Russian Federation. This was reported on Monday by the Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, reports UNN.

Yermak said that before the full-scale invasion, he lived with his mother and grandmother in Svatove, Luhansk region, but after his mother went to defend the country and the city came under shelling and occupation, the boy was left alone with his grandmother.

The Head of the Office of the President thanked the Ukrainian Network for Children's Rights for organizing this return.

Six children were returned from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine as part of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative. Among them is 16-year-old Vitaliy, who avoided forced mobilization, and 14-year-old Artem, whose mother was abducted by the occupiers.
