Ukraine needs at least 5.4 billion euros to prepare for the heating season. This was reported during the meeting of the Ukraine Energy Coordinating Group ("Energy Ramstein") by First Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Energy of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, according to UNN.
According to Shmyhal, preparation for the next winter is a key challenge.
Our priorities are clearly defined: protection of energy infrastructure; acceleration of procurement of equipment and materials for repairs; development of distributed generation; large-scale repair campaign; accumulation of gas reserves
He added that Ukrainian specialists have already inspected 8 decommissioned thermal power plants in Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Austria, and Croatia.
We have identified equipment that can be transferred to Ukraine, and we are now moving to the next stage — physical delivery and transfer to damaged energy facilities. Effective use of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund is also extremely important. The required funding volume is currently 829 million euros
