Starmer allows for the cessation of protests due to attacks on Jews in London. Police have classified the stabbings as a terrorist act.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has stated that in certain cases, it is possible to halt protests. This comes amid calls to suspend pro-Palestinian marches and following a series of knife attacks on Jewish people. This was reported by the BBC, according to UNN.

When asked whether the British Prime Minister wants to tighten control over the language used during marches or stop some protests altogether, Starmer replied: "I think certainly the former, and I think there are examples for the latter as well."

He emphasized that he would always support the right to protest; however, he expressed concern over the "cumulative" effect of regular marches on the Jewish community.

Additional Information

This statement was made against the backdrop of an incident in the London district of Golders Green, where two Jewish men—specifically Shloime Rand and Moshe Schein—sustained stab wounds.

45-year-old Essa Suleiman has been charged with three counts of attempted murder. He is also accused of attacking Ismail Hussein in the Southwark area of London.

The victims in Golders Green have already been discharged from the hospital after sustaining serious injuries, and police have classified the attack as a terrorist incident.
