Former US President Donald Trump tried for the third time to postpone the trial in the case of hidden payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels, but failed again - the trial will begin on April 15 in New York, Axios and RTL Television write, UNN reports .

For the third time in a row, the New York Court of Appeals has rejected a request by former President Trump's lawyers to postpone the upcoming trial in the money laundering case.

The case concerns porn star Stormy Daniels. Prosecutors say that Trump instructed his former lawyer Michael Cohen to pay Daniels $130,000 for her silence. Shortly before the 2016 election, she claimed to have had sex with Trump several years ago.

Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business documents to hide payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

An appeal by his lawyers to postpone the trial to find a new venue outside of Manhattan was rejected on Monday. A day later, the court rejected their request for a continuance to allow a panel of appeals court judges to hear arguments on the gag order imposed on Trump.

The third attempt by his lawyers to postpone the trial was unsuccessful. On April 15, the trial in the case of silencing former US President Donald Trump will begin in New York.
