According to the head of the White House, he plans to convey this message during a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"The Iranian strikes didn't hurt anyone. We hope that Israel is not going to respond. If Bibi (Netanyahu - ed.) hits them back, it's just going to continue like it has for the last 47 years, or the last 3,000 years,"
He reiterated that Washington is close to reaching a deal with Tehran and warned that escalating tensions could derail the efforts.
"We are very close to a final deal with Iran. It's going to be a good deal. I don't want it to be broken because of what's happening now. ... Each of them has had their fun in their own way. Israel had its strike, and Iran had its strike. We don't need another one," the U.S. President summarized.
Recall
On Sunday, June 7, Israel stated that Iran had launched missiles at it. This marked the first such shelling since a fragile truce took effect in early April, complicating mediation efforts to reach a deal to end the war.
