Nordone has not yet announced her candidacy

Darlene Graham Nordone has not yet officially confirmed her intention to run. According to Axios, she is exploring her options.

This week, Nordone was sworn in as a senator after being appointed by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster. She temporarily replaced her brother after his death and became the first woman to represent the state of South Carolina in the U.S. Senate.

The special Republican primary is scheduled for August 11, and the winner of the November election will serve as senator until January 2033. Trump's endorsement could significantly strengthen Nordone's position if she decides to enter the election race.
