US President Donald Trump is sending his special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Pakistan to participate in talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi this weekend. Two administration officials told CNN about this, UNN reports.

Vice President JD Vance currently does not plan to attend, as Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf is also not participating, officials said. White House officials consider Ghalibaf the head of the Iranian delegation and Vance's counterpart.
However, according to officials, the vice president will be ready for a trip to Islamabad if the talks progress and members of his staff are in Pakistan and take part in the negotiations.
Kushner and Witkoff have been working with Iranian officials for several months on a potential deal regarding Tehran's nuclear material.
