Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, together with the National Police, detained a forestry worker and a resident of the border area in the Ivano-Frankivsk region on suspicion of facilitating the illegal transfer of evaders abroad. This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation, reports UNN.
Details
The attackers planned to engage in illegal activities at the end of 2024. The forest master was engaged in searching for people who want to escape from Ukraine, and his accomplice would have to directly deliver them to the border and orient them on further actions.
The defendants wanted to use hidden routes outside the border crossing points – they ran along forest and mountain trails. In the end, they managed to find a "client" who agreed to illegally cross the border for 5,000 US dollars, but they were exposed by law enforcement officers.
The detainees were notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Illegal transfer of persons across the state border of Ukraine, committed by a group of persons). They face up to 9 years of imprisonment – she is currently being held in custody with the possibility of bail.
