The Ukraine national football team will play a friendly match against the Polish team today, May 31. The match will take place in Wroclaw at the Tarczynski Arena and will start at 18:30 Kyiv time. This was reported by the UAF, according to UNN.
Details
The match will be the debut for the new head coach of the "Blue and Yellows," Andrea Maldera. The match squad includes 23 players, and Andriy Yarmolenko will serve as the team captain. Due to rest and injuries, Andriy Lunin, Illia Zabarnyi, and Ruslan Malinovskyi were not included in the squad. Additionally, goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk and winger Oleksiy Hutsulyak are missing the training camp due to injuries.
On the eve of the match, the coaching staff called up Slovan Bratislava midfielder Danylo Ihnatenko to the national team; he last played for the national side in June 2023. To prepare for the June matches, the team held a training camp in Lviv—the first since the start of the full-scale war on Ukrainian territory.
Where to watch the match and game predictions
The live broadcast of the meeting will be shown by the MEGOGO media service and the "MEGOGO SPORT" TV channel on the T2 digital network and cable networks. The pre-match studio starts at 17:15.
Bookmakers consider the Polish national team the favorite: the odds for their victory are 2.10, for a draw – 3.25, and for a Ukrainian victory – 3.33. Both teams failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup, so the match will be part of the preparations for the autumn Nations League fixtures.
