President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed with President of Finland Alexander Stubb possible assistance to Kyiv to strengthen protection against Russian ballistic missiles. The head of state reported this on social media on August 5, UNN reports.
According to the head of state, Ukraine needs a constant supply of missiles for air defense systems, as Russian forces strike Ukrainian cities and communities every day.
"Discussed with Alex Stubb how Finland can help our defense against Russian ballistic attacks. We understand how many missiles for air defense systems there are in the world. And they are needed in Ukraine every day; every day we need to defend ourselves against these Russian strikes," Zelenskyy said.
The President emphasized that every partner country's contribution to strengthening Ukraine's air defense will help save people's lives. He also thanked Stubb for his prompt response and readiness to support Ukraine.
The parties separately discussed diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the war and forcing Russia to make peace.
"When Putin is unable to kill people, he will be forced to seek a way out of this war. Only sufficient support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia can help bring about peace," Zelenskyy stressed.
