More than 10 vehicles of Hato Hone St John, a charity organization that provides medical services to the people of New Zealand, rushed to Auckland Airport this afternoon after being notified of an incident on board a Chilean airline Latam Airlines at 15:58 local time.

St. John's teams have treated approximately 50 patients, with one patient in serious condition and the rest in moderate to light condition. So far, 13 patients have been transported to Middlemore Hospital by ambulance, as indicated.

This refers to a Latam Airlines plane flying LA800 from Sydney to Auckland, which experienced a "technical problem" that caused "severe movement" on board.

"The plane landed at Auckland Airport as planned. Some passengers and flight attendants were injured in the incident. They were treated immediately and the airport medical staff examined them or provided them with medical attention as needed," an airline spokesperson told the Herald.

One woman who was on board the plane said that she experienced a "small fast fall" during the flight.

"I used to be a flight attendant and this is the first time I’ve ever... the whole plane just froze," she said.

The passenger said she saw "at least" five people being taken away by waiting paramedics after landing and was glad to have made it safely to New Zealand. She said she did not know how serious the incident was for the other passengers.

Police said they were aware of the incident and referred all other inquiries to St. John's.
