The Pentagon is concerned about Russia's growing cooperation with Iran, the DPRK, and China. In particular, because of Russia's desire to purchase weapons and ammunition from these countries to support the war in Ukraine. This was stated by Pentagon spokesman Major General Pat Ryder at a press conference, UNN reports

When asked about the Pentagon's  concerns about the expanding arms cooperation between North Korea and Russia and Iran and China's cooperation with Russia, Ryder replied:  "We are again closely monitoring these relationships and are indeed concerned, particularly with respect to Russia seeking to purchase arms and munitions from these countries to support its war against Ukraine. So we will continue to monitor this closely."

On August 12, the White House National Security Council Strategic Communications Coordinator John Kirby saidthat military cooperation between Russia and the DPRK is dangerous not only for Ukraine but also for the Indo-Pacific region.
