The politician took the oath of office in the center of the Hungarian Parliament's assembly hall and subsequently signed the relevant decree. At the inaugural session of parliament, 140 deputies voted in his favor.
Following his appointment, Magyar was met with applause, and deputies greeted the new Prime Minister with a standing ovation. However, representatives of Viktor Orbán's Fidesz party abstained from the ovation.
