The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has created a new structural unit - the Department of Logistics Planning. This was reported on the website of the defense ministry, UNN reports.

The Department will formulate long-term procurement plans for the army, including food, clothing, fuel and lubricants, and logistics equipment.
We recognize that in times of war, we cannot completely avoid some emergency procurement requests. But we can reduce the number of such cases. The main task of the Department is to develop an annual procurement plan. That is, to minimize the urgent need - when the Ministry needs to buy something for the Armed Forces urgently. Previously, this approach affected both the quality and price of goods. Therefore, the newly created Department should partially resolve this issue
The Department will formulate the volumes of goods and services required for procurement to meet the needs received from the Logistics Forces Command.
The department's specialists will research the market, monitor prices and determine the estimated cost. The State Logistics Operator will carry out the procurement.
