“The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially authorized the operation of a new mobile car repair shop developed by specialists from one of the Ukrainian defense industry enterprises. This workshop was created to meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the statement said.
As noted, the new model of the mobile repair shop is compact and much more maneuverable than existing mobile workshops on the chassis of outdated Soviet ZIL-131 trucks. The new repair shop can also be installed on the chassis of various models of off-road pickup trucks from global manufacturers.
“The workshop is equipped with tools and equipment for tire fitting, welding, and car locksmithing. It is capable of charging car batteries using a special device and performing diagnostic work using specialized computer equipment. In addition, the mobile workshop is equipped with a 500-kilogram capacity jib crane and a 5 ton capacity winch,” the press service said.
As noted, a certain number of such mobile workshops on pickup truck chassis have already been transferred to combat units. The repair shop is also capable of handling routine repairs and maintenance of automotive and military equipment of company-battalion level units.
