The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has approved the food security strategy of Ukraine for the period up to 2027. This was announced by the Permanent Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk, UNN reports .
"The Food Security Strategy of Ukraine for the period up to 2027 was approved, which aims to define the goals, main directions and objectives of the state policy on food security as a direction of ensuring the national security of Ukraine. The operational plan of measures for the implementation of the Food Security Strategy of Ukraine until 2027 has been approved," Melnychuk wrote.
During a government meeting, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the strategy has three key goals:
- Stimulate the development of agricultural production and fill the food market.
- Ensure access to food for all population groups.
- Strengthen the security component and eliminate threats. In particular, this concerns the formation of the state reserve, the restoration of commodity chains, demining of agricultural land, etc.

The Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) predictsthat in 2024, Ukrainian farmers will harvest 71 million tons of grains and oilseeds, which is 13% less than last year.
