Border guards found the body of a 43-year-old resident of Mohyliv-Podilskyi who tried to illegally cross the Dniester towards Moldova. This was reported by the State Border Guard Service, UNN reports.
"A local resident informed the border guards about a man who was swimming across the Dniester towards Moldova and abruptly disappeared underwater. Border guards began a rescue operation using a service boat. Unfortunately, the man's body was later found without signs of life. He was a 43-year-old resident of Mohyliv-Podilskyi. The deceased was carrying a phone and a passport in a plastic bag," the SBGS reported.
It is noted that officers of the State Emergency Service and the National Police were called to the scene.

On Sunday, July 14, in Odesa region, border guards stopped a car with five people, two of whom tried to escape. One of them attacked a border guard, who responded by using his weapon, and the offender died.
