Switzerland has announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth almost 45 million francs (about $50 million). This was reported by the Swiss Federal Council, UNN reports.
Details
These funds are used to restore the destroyed energy infrastructure, repair damaged housing and meet the humanitarian needs of the population affected by large-scale Russian attacks. In particular, the country is focusing on providing heat and electricity to millions of Ukrainians in the winter.
Specialists of the Swiss Humanitarian Aid Corps are already working in different regions of Ukraine. They are helping to repair heat pumps, generators and power plants. Particular attention is being paid to cities such as Odesa, where Swiss funding has helped to keep hospitals, schools and vital infrastructure open even during the cold months.
In addition to emergency aid, Switzerland supports long-term energy efficiency projects.
