The death toll from Tropical Storm Debbie on the coast of the southern US states has risen to six, NBC News reports, according to UNN. Earlier, the TV channel reported four deaths.

The TV channel notes that Debbie's status has been downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm due to weakening activity. It also indicates that "catastrophic" flooding caused by precipitation, in addition to the two states mentioned above, is expected in North and South Carolina - according to the channel, in some places the water level may exceed 75 centimeters.
