A 15-year-old teenager who carried out a shooting at an educational institution in Zakarpattia was recruited by Russian special services through an online game. This was reported by the head of the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration, Myroslav Biletskyi, after a meeting with the police and the SBU, as conveyed by UNN.

It was established that in both situations, enemy special services acted through online games. They thoroughly study their victim, find leverage, intimidate, and push them to commit a crime. At this moment, the attention, observation, and sensitivity of adults – parents, teachers, social workers – are very important. Their timely involvement in a child's life can save them from a step that could ruin their life or the lives of those around them.
He added that security officers are already working in several educational institutions in Zakarpattia, and frame or handheld metal detectors have been installed.
These steps allow us to keep the security situation in schools under control, promote close communication between schoolchildren and law enforcement agencies, and thus increase trust in them. This experience should be shared and scaled to all districts and communities.
Context
On April 16, in the city of Chop, Uzhhorod district, Zakarpattia region, a shooting occurred in one of the educational institutions. A 9th-grade student shot a classmate at school – the shooter himself was later detained.
Medics examined the victim; his life and health are not in danger.
Later, police showed footage from body cameras of the detention of the minor for the shooting. The detainee is charged with committing an attempted intentional unlawful killing of two or more persons.
