Russian troops in Syria are facing a critical shortage of water and food, while rumors are spreading among soldiers about Moscow's intention to keep up to three thousand soldiers at the bases in Tartus and Hmeymim, UNN reports citing the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
The withdrawal of Russian troops from remote areas of Syria continues, and on some routes they are accompanied by armed groups opposed to the Bashar al-Assad regime.
Rumors are spreading among Russian soldiers that Moscow has agreed to maintain a military presence at the bases in Tartus and Khmeimim in the amount of up to three thousand soldiers.
These bases, as well as Russian ships in the region, are experiencing difficulties with drinking water and food supplies.
The remnants of the Russian group are waiting for military transport planes to deliver the food needed for further evacuation.
The DIU reports that two An-124-100 and two Il-76MD flights from Chkalovsk to Khmeimim are scheduled for December 14, 2024.
