Russia warned of a threat to shipping in its Black Sea waters due to attacks by Ukrainian drones. Ukraine attacked 124 vessels linked to Russia from July 8 to July 20.

Moscow warned that shipping in its Black Sea waters has become dangerous due to the intensification of Ukrainian attacks on Russia-linked vessels. This was reported by Bloomberg, writes UNN.

The warning was addressed to all vessels located in Russia's exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea. The message, published on July 22 on the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense, mentions a potential threat from Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and maritime drones.

An exclusive economic zone is a maritime area extending up to 200 nautical miles from the coast. Russia's exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea provides access to several national ports, including Novorossiysk, one of the key centers for raw material exports.

As the publication notes, the warning from the Russian Ministry of Defense came amid numerous Ukrainian attacks on vessels in the Black and Azov Seas. In this way, Ukraine is trying to limit Russian raw material exports and force the Kremlin to sit down at the negotiating table. Prolonged disruptions in oil supplies through the Black Sea could increase pressure on global markets, as the war between the US and Iran is already affecting shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and the Red Sea.
