Russia has begun developing a "sovereign" artificial intelligence system that is supposed to be "correct" and comply with the "traditional spiritual and moral values" defined by the state. The criteria for testing the model are planned to be developed by Russia's FSB jointly with the Russian Ministry of Digital Development. This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, reports UNN.

According to the CCD, Russia had previously already announced its intention to create its own AI. In particular, this involved training the system on the works of Dostoevsky, Dugin, and other ideological authors. The Russian authorities stated that the country needed a model that would not be guided by "alien Western values."
At the same time, according to available data, Russians nevertheless continue to actively use Western technologies while simultaneously calling for them to be banned.
In the Russian understanding, "sovereign" increasingly means not one's own, but something that can be fully controlled. Putin has already signed a law regulating AI in Russia.
