The Russian aerospace company "Bureau 1440" has lost one of its 16 serial satellites of the "Rassvet" communication system, launched into orbit in March 2026. This information was confirmed by the company itself. This is reported by Meduza with reference to Russian media, according to UNN.

According to the publication, the disappearance of the spacecraft was recorded using space object monitoring resources. "Bureau 1440" stated that there are currently six experimental "Rassvet-1" and "Rassvet-2" satellites in low Earth orbit, as well as 15 spacecraft from the first serial batch.
The company announced the launch of the first 16 serial satellites on March 24. At that time, "Bureau 1440" called this stage a transition from testing to the creation of a full-fledged satellite communication service.
The "Rassvet" project is positioned as a Russian analogue of the Starlink system. By the end of 2030, the company plans to form an orbital constellation of 292 satellites, with a total of 383 spacecraft to be launched. 102 billion rubles from the federal budget and another 329 billion rubles of the company's own funds are allocated for the project's implementation.
