According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the night of August 8 (from 6:00 p.m. on August 7), the enemy attacked with six Iskander-M ballistic missiles and S-400 surface-to-air guided missiles from Bryansk Oblast, as well as 151 Shahed-type attack UAVs (including jet-powered ones), Gerbera, Italmas, and Parody-type decoy drones from the following directions: Kursk, Millerovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk — Russia; the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk; and Hvardiiske — the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 9:00 a.m., air defenses had shot down/suppressed 135 enemy Shahed-, Gerbera-, and Italmas-type UAVs and drones of other types in the north, south, and east of the country. Missile strikes and 13 attack UAVs were recorded at 12 locations, as well as the falling of downed drones (debris) at 7 locations.
