Over the seven months of 2026, taxpayers transferred UAH 8.4 billion in real estate tax to the budgets. UNN reports this, citing the State Tax Service of Ukraine.
Compared with the same period last year, revenues increased by 8.9%.
Details
According to the State Tax Service, the largest amount of real estate tax revenue in January–July was received by the Kyiv city budget — UAH 1.8 billion.
Among the regions, the largest revenues were recorded in Kyiv region — UAH 924.2 million, Lviv region — UAH 813.9 million, and Dnipropetrovsk region — UAH 811 million.
The Tax Service reminded that the real estate tax other than land tax for individuals is assessed on residential property area exceeding the established preferential thresholds. For apartments, this is an area exceeding 60 sq. m, and for residential buildings — exceeding 120 sq. m. If different types of residential real estate are owned simultaneously, the preferential threshold is 180 sq. m.
If a person owns several residential or non-residential real estate properties located in different settlements, they must contact the controlling authority at their tax address to reconcile the data on the assessed tax.
Taxpayers can check information about the properties and shares in them, their total area, entitlement to a tax benefit, the applicable rate, and the amount of the assessed tax liability.
To reconcile the data, a written application must be submitted to the controlling authority at the tax address. If necessary, documents confirming ownership or other information about the real estate may be attached.
If discrepancies are identified during the reconciliation between the State Tax Service's information and the data confirmed by the taxpayer, the tax authority will recalculate the amount and send a new tax notice-decision. The previous decision will be canceled in such a case.
The State Tax Service also noted that individuals can view the tax notices-decisions on real estate tax issued to them in the taxpayer's Electronic Cabinet.
Reminder
In the first half of 2026, property owners paid nearly UAH 6.1 billion in tax, which is 8.6% more than last year. The largest amount — UAH 1.2 billion — came from Kyiv.
