The restaurant industry demonstrates resilience even in times of war. In 2023, the industry's net income amounted to UAH 31.6 billion, and the increase in 2023 to 2022 was 120%. Restaurants in the capital and well-known international chains earned the most.

This is reported by analysts of YC.Market, reports UNN.

Who are the leaders?

McDonald's remains the undisputed leader, earning UAH 12.9 billion, which is almost 40% of the sector's total revenue, with an increase of 297% compared to 2022.

KFC showed revenue of UAH 2.5 billion.Other major players: 

- Puzata Khata - almost UAH 951 million;

- Domino's Pizza - over UAH 369 million;

- Sushi - over UAH 322 million;

- Salateira - almost UAH 289 million;

- VOG Cafe (a chain of cafes at WOG filling stations) - UAH 174 million;

- Tarrantino Family - UAH 138 million.

Geographic leadership

Kyiv remains the center of the gastronomy industry, generating 72% of all industry revenues (UAH 23 billion in 2023). Dnipropetrovs'k region is in second place with revenues of UAH 1.6 billion, and Lviv region is in third place (UAH 1.4 billion).

The impact of the war

Fabrika Smaku LLC (Odesa) - UAH 397 million;

Volodymyrets Catering Plant (Rivne region) - UAH 273 million;

Layar City LLC (Lviv region) - UAH 81 million.

The number of new entrepreneurs in the industry continues to grow. In 2023, almost 19.4 thousand individual entrepreneurs were registered, which is 100% more than in 2022.
