Humanitarian assistance to people who have fled the frontline settlements continues. In particular, workers have mobilized support for residents who suffered after deadly attacks in Donetsk and Sumy regions, according to a report by the UN Monitoring Mission in Ukraine.
According to the Humanitarian Aid Cluster, displaced persons from the affected communities continue to arrive in the western regions. The most popular services include case management, psychosocial support and accommodation.
The situation in Donetsk and Sumy regions
The UN organization reports on the number of people leaving Donetsk region by evacuation (referring to the Ukrainian government).
In particular, the report noted that on August 10-11, more than 1,000 people were evacuated daily, including about 400 children. For comparison, from August 1 to August 6, about 500-600 people were evacuated.
Regarding Sumy region:
Between August 6 and 8, about 100 people were evacuated from Sumy region in coordination with local authorities and volunteers. On August 9, the authorities increased the number of places for mandatory evacuation to 28 towns and villages in 7 communities with an estimated total population of 20,000 people.
Humanitarian partners coordinated efforts to support people evacuated to transit points in Donetsk, Dnipro and Sumy regions.
In the Donetsk region, 5 sites have been opened to accommodate about 120 people; a new transit center has been created and another one is planned in the Dnipro region with a capacity of up to 300 people with a temporary stay of up to 7 days. - the report says.
As of August 12, nearly 70 people evacuated from Donetsk region to a transit point in Dnipropetrovs'k region received multidisciplinary assistance.

A number of organizations are mentioned as being involved in the aid, including the Martin Club, the Right to Protection, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.
In Sumy region, a transit center in Sumy operated by Pluriton provided multidisciplinary support to evacuees, including registration for multi-purpose cash assistance.
At the transit center in Sumy, UNHCR has enrolled about 285 evacuees to receive multipurpose cash assistance.
