Movement will be allowed for all types of vessels during specified hours after previously imposed restrictions. This was reported by CNN with reference to the Qatari Ministry of Transport, writes UNN.

Details

The ministry urged operators to adhere to the established rules and ensure the serviceability of all necessary safety equipment before and during voyages.

Restrictions and Context

The statement emphasizes that the resumption of navigation does not mean complete freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz – one of the key maritime routes in the world.

There is currently no official reaction from Iran, which controls the strait. Qatar's statement comes amid negotiations between the US and Iran in Pakistan, aimed at resolving the situation in the Middle East.
