Russian dictator Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. As reported by the Kremlin, the discussion also touched upon the "situation around Ukraine" and alleged strikes by Kyiv on "gas transportation infrastructure connecting Russia and Turkey," UNN reports.

According to the Kremlin, the parties exchanged views on the escalation of military-political confrontation in the Persian Gulf region. They also discussed the implementation of joint strategic projects between Russia and Turkey in the energy sector.

During the discussion of the "situation around Ukraine," Putin expressed gratitude to his Turkish counterpart for his unwavering readiness to facilitate the negotiation process.

"Given the attempts by the Kyiv regime to strike at the gas transportation infrastructure connecting Russia and Turkey, and at merchant ships in the Black Sea, the importance of coordinated measures to comprehensively ensure security in the Black Sea waters was emphasized," the Kremlin statement said.
