More than 256,000 crimes of Russian aggression have been recorded, of which 225,000 are war crimes. To date, 254 individuals have been convicted, and 1,191 suspects have been formally notified of charges.

Currently, over 256,000 crimes related to the aggression of the Russian Federation have been recorded. Of these, more than 225,000 are war crimes. Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reported this at the International Conference "United for Justice," as reported by UNN.

Details

According to the Prosecutor General, the ministerial meeting of the Dialogue Group on Accountability for Ukraine and the International Conference "United for Justice" brought together those working toward a common goal – restoring justice for the victims of Russian aggression and holding the perpetrators accountable.

Currently, over 256,000 crimes related to the aggression of the Russian Federation have been recorded. Of these, more than 225,000 are war crimes. Behind every figure is a real human tragedy: a destroyed home, a demolished hospital, a kidnapped child, a murdered civilian. This is the reality Ukrainians live in every day. And Russia has already taken the lives of more than 17,000 people, including 700 children

- Kravchenko reported.

Prosecutor General Kravchenko: since the beginning of the invasion, over 240,000 crimes of Russian aggression against Ukraine recorded, with over 1,100 suspicions and 240 convictions24.02.26, 09:19

The Prosecutor General emphasized that the aggressor country's crimes against Ukraine are systemic in nature – it is state policy.

It is our duty to provide a legal assessment of it and ensure punishment for the guilty. This can only be achieved through the consolidated efforts of everyone who today jointly defends the basic values of the civilized world

- he noted.

The participation in the conference of such a wide circle of experts, including representatives of governments from over 20 countries, the diplomatic corps, international organizations, law enforcement institutions, the human rights community, and our other partners, confirmed a common position: accountability for international crimes must be inevitable.

The crime of aggression is the root cause of everything that is happening. Therefore, for Ukraine, one of the most pressing issues remains the launch of the full-scale operation of the Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression. This is needed right now

- Kravchenko added.

The conference's working panels also covered other key topics: harmonization of legislation, new strategies for investigating international crimes, the legal response to the deportation of children, repressions in the temporarily occupied territories, attacks on critical infrastructure, and the use of UAVs against civilians. Each discussion was a step toward finding specific mechanisms for punishing Russian criminals.

Over 44 terabytes of evidentiary information accumulated - Kravchenko on collecting evidence of Russian aggression for the Special Tribunal06.03.26, 18:47

At the national level, there are already concrete results: Ukrainian investigators and prosecutors have served notices of suspicion for war crimes to 1,191 individuals; indictments against 856 of them have been sent to court, and 254 individuals have already been convicted. In parallel, work is being carried out at the international level, as "United for Justice," beyond being the conference title, reflects a method of systemic and consistent international cooperation with foreign partners. Joint investigations in various jurisdictions, the exchange of evidence and testimony, the execution of requests for international legal assistance, the pursuit of suspects up to extradition, and the exposure of Russian intelligence networks – this is 24/7 work

- Kravchenko reported.

The Prosecutor General is convinced that further decisive joint actions will ensure that no border will protect those who gave criminal orders regarding Ukrainians or executed them.

Together, we will ensure accountability for Russia and its top military and political leadership. Together toward justice. We continue our work

- Kravchenko concluded.

"Responsibility for the crime of aggression must reach the highest leaders of the Russian Federation": Kravchenko discussed the work of the Special Tribunal in London and The Hague06.10.25, 12:57
