Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has systematically attacked Ukraine's cultural and historical heritage. During this time, thousands of objects have been damaged, some of them completely destroyed. This was reported by the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, as reported by UNN.
Details
What is a national treasure for us is another target for the enemy. Russia deliberately destroys our cultural and historical heritage, trying to erase Ukrainian memory
According to available data, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 1,707 cultural heritage sites and 2,503 cultural infrastructure objects have been damaged, and 513 of them have been completely destroyed.
These are acts of terror that must receive a harsh international assessment. I thank the employees who, under shelling, preserve, document, and protect our heritage in museums, archives, and communities... I call on the world to protect Ukrainian historical and cultural heritage. Preserving our roots is our duty to future generations
